The Art studio “Paletė” – a member of Vilnius Cultural Center has been in existence since 1971.
The members of the studio are representatives of various professions – folk artists, most of whom have been given the status of art creators.
The aim of the studio is to foster the traditions of Lithuanian ethnic culture, to reveal the rich folk art forms, to integrate intangible cultural assets in ethno-cultural imaginative art and to assist the amateur folk artists in full.
In their work, artists cherish the themes of Lithuanian landscapes, folklore, mythology, which try to express their national identity and preserve cultural traditions.
Two different directions of activity are organized in the studio: the continuation of folk art traditions, also known as “naive” painting (basic) and the fundamentals of academic art.
The members of the art studio „Paletė“ are encouraged to organize personal exhibitions of their creations, participate in group exhibitions and competitions in the republic, in order to develop their artistic skills.
