Folk group “Krivūlė”

“Krivūlė” is one of the first folklore ensembles of Vilnius city, founded in 1985 by the famous folklorist Kazimieras Kalibatas. Later, the ensemble was led by Petras Kvedaras, Ingrida Bobėnaitė, Janina Armonaitė and others.

This is a gathering of folk music lovers and enthusiasts, uniting people of various professions and ages who cannot imagine their lives without folk songs and dances. And where else would there be a desire and opportunity to be friends, chat after a day’s work, celebrate holidays, and travel around Lithuania and the world.

The ensemble’s repertoire includes over 400 songs, about 80 circles, dances, and games. A significant part of them was recorded by the ensemble members while collecting folklore in Lithuanian villages and towns. The ensemble creates new programs and actively participates in events, festivals, and song festivals organized by the Vilnius Teachers’ House, the city of Vilnius, and Lithuania.
