The ensemble, founded in 1969 by kankle player Daiva Čičinskienė, brings together people of different generations and professions, who are united by their love for Lithuanian folk vocal, instrumental, and religious music.
Fostering national identity, music-making, and community are the way of life of the members of the ensemble “Kankleliai”. What could be more beautiful and noble than the creative heritage of Lithuanian songs, folk songs, instrumental music, and historical figures of Lithuanian culture (A. Vienažindis, L. Rėza, M. Daukša, V. Kudirka, J. Basanavičius, etc.) and its meaningfulness.
